Nestled on top a flat summit of a volcanic tuff lies the quaint city of Orvieto. This wall encapsulated city located in the south western part of Umbria is a great pit stop for all travelers traveling to or from Florence/Rome.
I easily had one of the best meals I’ve ever had here. Strolling the winding streets and back alleys I stumbled upon Trattoria La Palomba, a local favorite. I ordered Umberachelli al Tartufo ( homemade noodles with truffles). In season table side grated truffles and homemade noodles, you can’t go wrong. Add a glass of red Umbria wine and I’m a happy camper to say the least.
Besides incredible food, Orvieto is also well known for its beautiful gold encrusted Duomo (cathedral), underground passage ways, and stunning cliffside views.
