A paunchy grandma sweeps her porch, a couple shouts at each other at the top of their lungs, church bells ring some where in the distance, and mopeds zoom past on winding cobblestone roads. Welcome to Rome.

It took me four weeks of living here to actually even attempt to explain life in Rome, and I’m still struggling in trying to depict Rome and its cultural vastness. Stepping outside one is overcome with sights, smells, and a history that spans over seventeen centuries. If there is anything I could say with certainty it is that Rome is a city worth spending a lifetime. Visiting Rome for one or two days would be comparable to seeing Epcot’s version of Italy. Tourists, sites, and long lines.

The eternal city is much more than the Trevi Fountain and pizza.
